Robert Hodges
Owner
After graduating from the University of Georgia in 2012, Owner Robert Hodges, moved to Portland, Oregon and spent time working in different sandwich shops. After PDX, Robert went on a month-long road trip across the country where he dined at many different restaurants and felt an incredible amount of hospitality from people that hosted him along the way. After running out of traveling money, Robert moved to Greenville in early 2014. From that time until May 2018, Robert worked for the Table 301 restaurant group in various roles for many restaurants. He spent most of his time with Soby’s on the Side and Table 301 Catering in the General Manager position. He started Sunflower Eatery, off Roper Mountain Road, in the Summer of 2018. After a year and a half of operating successfully, COVID rapidly slowed down the business. Recognizing that the pandemic was not going away any time soon, Robert had to make a tough decision: Close up and find another job or stay open and try to weather the storm. After some timely encouragement, Robert decided to spend the next 2 years developing his culinary and baking skillset. SUNFLOWER is the accumulation of the best sandwiches that were created over the past few years.
Robert and his wife, Liz, are believers in Jesus and attend Grace Church in Greenville.
